Managing ink with your inkjet

The inkjet is the highest maintenance in terms of ink replacement

If you own an inkjet printer then one of your main problems will be the ink. Ink for an inkjet printer does not come so cheap nowadays. Even if you're spending thirty to forty dollars per cartridge, you'll be changing that cartridge very often. This is one of the main drawbacks for ink based printers. They use ink as if there were no tomorrow. If you are using an inkjet printer then you have to put some strategies into place so that you don't burn a hole in your pocket.

Draft ink or economic ink can save you a lot

One of the things that you can do to save ink for your inkjet printer is to use the draft print option. If there is no draft print option on your computer then there should be some sort of economic print option somewhere there. Although you reduce the quality of your print out, you will be able to cut down your ink costs by more than half. Using draft ink or economic ink allows you to read and appreciate your print out without worrying too much about the printing cost. When should you use draft ink? Draft ink can be used when you are merely printing something that will not be presented to an important individual. If you are going to use a print out merely for yourself then using draft ink should not be a problem. You're the only one looking at it so should you really use tons of ink? In fact, you might want to read stuff directly off your computer instead.

Should you get ink refills instead of cartridge replacements?

Another tip that you might want to take into account for using your ink based printer is the several ink refills available out there. Although this is not highly recommended by the manufacturer, ink refills can save you a lot of money. Instead of buying another whole cartridge altogether, you might want to refill your old cartridge with ink instead. This can save you a lot of money. One problem that you might encounter here is fake ink. Is there really such a thing? If you put in ink in your cartridge that is not made by the manufacturer or if you put in ink in an incorrect way then you might end up ruining your printer altogether so this means that you have to be careful when doing this. You do not want to end up with a broken printer.
